Mudd ancestor's, Woad and Clay, were excavated from an archaeological dig somewhere to the left of Stonehenge and to the right of Hitler. They currently sit in the British Museum, waiting for Mudd to claim them (he has a problem with their fascist leanings; plus, they smell a bit). Mudd was originally Clay, but due to an unfortunate childhood incident that they don't like to talk about, had an emergency mudectomy, which saved his life but unfortunately not his clay. Mudd is the first mineral to ever manipulate decks and make music (unless you count Peters & Lee and Bobby Crush, which we don't). He has released records under a variety of names and has a new label, entirely constructed out of earth, called Claremont 65.
